There is Still Hope!!! - We can end the TPD in UK if we all act now!

Published by Paul Larter on 21st May 2016

The petition on the .gov website over 6 months was a terrible turn out considering the amount of vapers we have in this country. We obtained just over 18,000 signatures and we needed 100,000. Please help support the House of Lords and turn around this hideous over regulation from the EU on article 20 of TPD and make your opinion count on the below petition! We are only at 35,000.......We need more....

Since last week Lord Callanan, our champion in fighting the TPD restrictions on our right to vape and choice has filed a motion that if successful could revoke the TPD plans here at home. Lord Callanan’s ongoing fight though will never amount to anything, unless we all show our support and act also.

On the schedule of The House of Lords Business today

“Lord Callanan to move that a Humble Address be presented to Her Majesty praying that the Tobacco and Related Products Regulations 2016, laid before the House on 22 April, be annulled on the grounds that its restrictions on product choice and advertising of vaping devices were devised before evidence had accumulated that vaping was enabling many people to quit smoking, run counter to advice from the Royal College of Physicians to promote vaping and are so severe that they could force vapers back to smoking and create a black market with harmful products (SI 2015/507).”

Importantly here, if we the “vaping community” 2.8 million of us signed the petition to support Lord Callanan and fight this we will make an impact and make our voices heard. If Lord Callanan’s motion goes through it will allow a vote and debate in Parliament, which could end in TPD being thrown out.

We know that the general feeling of the Lords is that they oppose TPD so let us support that by contacting your local MP, signing the petition, get involved in any way you can. We have a chance here, but we need contribution! Remember our next chance to fight this maybe 2026!

If you vape and love being able to choose freely what to buy and have a wide range of flavours and hardware to hand act now, this also is helping all fellow people to come who wish to give up a habit that is killing people. This action is significant and will not just affect our vaping lives but lives of vapers to come.
