A study carried out by the University of Melbourne, indicates that easier and unregulated access to vaping products that contain Nicotine, would lead to evidential health increase and boost while also savings cost in the health sector.

A study published in Epidemiology titled “Potential country-level health and cost impacts of legalizing the domestic sale of vaporized nicotine products” was aimed at finding out the effects of increased vaping rates in New Zealand.

Financial gains calculated at NZ$3.4 billion (AUD$3.27 billion) was speculated as a result of reduction in number of people developing smoking-related diseases.

A conclusion drawn from the researchers was that an average of 19 extra healthy living days it would be added to the life of New Zealand residents, thus inferring an increased life expectancy and health benefits for New Zealanders. This improvement is facilitated by the health gained by people who migrate from smoking to vaping. The results if compared would also be applicable to Australia claim the researchers.

The study also looked into the financial gains on public health as a result of fewer people coming down with smoking-related diseases, and this were calculated at NZ$3.4 billion (AUD$3.27 billion). All these effects were estimated under realistic assumption.

Tony Blankley a professor and senior study author at the University of Melbourne said that the results relate simultaneously to Australia. He highlighted that: “The smoking rate and disease rate in Australia and New Zealand are very much similar when compared,” “In New Zealand the most accurate estimate of health gain is equivalent to 19 days of healthy life for everyone alive at that time over the remaining years of their lives – An evaluation that we can most probably hand over to the Tasman.”

Australia ranks as the second worst country for vapers to Reside

Australia was listed the second worst country in the world to be an e-cigarette user in by the same recent survey conducted at the annual Global Forum on Nicotine in Warsaw that ranked Thailand the worst country for e-cigarette users to live in.

Whereas, in mild irony, Last November lawmakers in New Zealand released Vaping laws and vaping product regulations that handles e-cigarettes more like tobacco products other than the smoking and health degradation reduction tool that they really are. This evaluation came After over a year from the announcement indicating that e-cigarettes manufacturing, sales, consumption, and possession would be legalized in New Zealand.
